Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is out for the United States Military, but pink rifles are in. The Pentagon has placed an order for 100,000 pink tactical rifles which will be made available to all gay servicemen.
Citing the need to promote a “gay-friendly environment”, gay military personnel will have the option of carrying a pink rifle into battle with them. With a price tag of $2,500 each, the total cost to the Department of Defense will be $250 million for the initial order of pink rifles, which will be offset by an identical cut in job placement assistance for veterans.
