Chinese figure skater Ku Chee Lee had an apparent wardrobe malfunction and lost her panties midway through her routine. A consummate professional, Lee continued to skate receiving a standing ovation from the crowd at the end.
Peter Wakinov, the Russian judge, gave Lee an extra point for “meticulous grooming”. British judge Ian Wilshire had an epiphany. “I always thought the slit was horizontal on Chinese girls”, remarked Wilshire in a seemingly breathless tone. “I learned something new today.”
Unable to blur Ku Chee Lee’s exposed loins, NBC cut abruptly to a commercial during her routine to avoid FCC scrutiny.
