Surreptitiously inserted into the new health care reform bill is a clause that will cause the Legislative branch of the U.S. government to lose their health care coverage as of July 4th, 2010. Weighing in at over 2,500 pages, it was easy to sneak this addendum into the bill.
Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, was visibly angry when the stealth insertion was discovered. “Heads will roll,” Pelosi screamed on the House floor as she banged her gavel. CSPAN cameras showed several Republicans turning red trying to contain their laughter. “It wasn’t me,” shouted one lone voice to a chorus of Republican guffaws. Members of Congress will also be excluded from being able to purchase insurance from the new “exchanges” being created by the individual states.
“We now have proof that no one ever read the bill,” Rush Limbaugh remarked on his radio show today.
