Over 1 billion Chinese survive 7.1 magnitude quake

China earthquake A 7.1 magnitude earthquake centered in the Qinghai province has left an estimated 1.33 billion people in China alive.  Early reports indicate that large areas of China had no damage at all.  Most of the Chinese population did not feel the quake.

The Chinese government did not activate approximately 2.2 million active troops in response to the earthquake.  Even though many people are still trapped in the rubble, the number of Chinese survivors is not expected to dip below 1.33 billion.
